About Visitar Italia
What this is
Visitar Italia is an independent travel guide to Italy, published in five languages. We write practical destination guides, itineraries and travel news with real prices, real timings and honest advice on what to skip. We are not a tourism board and we are not the official site of any attraction. We say that plainly, on every page.
Who is behind it
The guides are curated and edited by Joan Sanz, the editor of Visitar Italia. Joan has traveled Italy for years, from the obvious cities to the slow corners, and the editorial line is simple: help a real traveler plan a real trip, and never recommend something just because it pays a commission. The site is operated by Guloia EIRL.
How we make the content
Guides are produced with the support of AI language models and reviewed by a human editor before publishing. Prices, opening hours and transport details are the things that change most often in Italy, so we date every page and tell you to verify anything critical with the official venue. When we cover current events, we summarize and link the original sources, and we never present rumor as fact.
How we stay independent
Some tour links earn us a commission through Viator, at no extra cost to you. That never buys a recommendation. Negative advice, what to skip, what is overpriced, what is a tourist trap, stays in the guides even when it costs us money. Read our affiliate disclosure for the full picture.
Corrections
We get things wrong sometimes. If you spot an error, use the contact form with the correction reason and we will fix it. Fast corrections are part of how we earn your trust.
